Northern Powergrid have published a guide to connections targeted at Community Energy groups. The guide explains the process to getting a connection in plain English aimed at the non-specialist - a connection to the electricity grid is one of the most complicated (and often costly) processes that a community energy group can go through and we’re keen on doing the best we can to help out. They’ve supplied the guide to several events that are taking place during community energy fortnight including in Middlesbrough, Gargrave and York.
The guide was launched at the national Community Energy Conference and Awards in Oxford earlier this month and we expect that other electricity network operators will follow suit with their own guides. Northern Powergrid's commitment to expanding the role of community energy groups in our license area was underlined by our nomination for an innovation award.
