NOMS are inviting expressions of interest for a series of grant awards to support VCS organisations that can provide innovation across the prison system. To achieve a truly reformed estate it is essential that a diverse market is in place which includes the full involvement of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.
This grant programme is open to VCS organisations with the purpose of accessing new services, approaches, or innovation that might be able to support a reformed prison estate.
The grant is only available for activity taking place in the six early adopter reform prisons, all of which are adult male prisons, including two in the North East of England. Activity may be limited to one prison or cover multiple sites.
These prisons are:
- HMP Coldingley
- HMP Highdown
- HMP Holme House
- HMP Kirlevington Grange
- HMO Ranby
- HMP Wandsworth
Applications from Prospective Grant Recipients, which seek to design and test out new ways of achieving better outcomes are invited which address the following themes:
- Listening and responding to people with lived experience.
- Improving the prison environment.
- Addressing multiple and complex needs.
- Addressing the needs of young adults.
- Support for children and families.
- Support for priority groups and those with protected characteristics in the prison system.
- Improving health and wellbeing.
- Inspiring creativity through the arts.
- Helping people back to work.
- Education.
- Valuing volunteers.
- Involving the voluntary sector.
