Role description: Manager

Tyne + Wear Building Preservation Trust are looking for a dynamic part-time Event Manager to orchestrate events and activities and provide a warm and inclusive welcome for all at St Mary’s Heritage Centre in Gateshead.

Tyne + Wear Building Preservation Trust, established in 1979, rescues and reforms buildings of historic significance, breathing new life into our region's rich heritage.  St Mary’s Heritage Centre stands proudly on the Gateshead bank of the Tyne alongside the Glasshouse and Baltic and is part of Gateshead’s up and coming cultural hub known as the Railway Quarter.  St Marys is an iconic venue, with exciting potential for a variety of events and activities.  You will be part of a team focused on ensuring the future use and enjoyment of this Grade I Listed building for generations to come.

This role encompasses event planning and managing, from promotion, marketing and generating new hire opportunities through to the planning and delivery of events.  Co-ordinating and supporting third parties, along with running our own events, you will manage bookings, event set ups, catering, audio visual needs, space layout, and other details to provide a seamless service and positive experience.  Plus ensuring all health and safety at the venue is in place so people can enjoy their time here.  You will also provide support and direction to our growing band of volunteers at St Marys who will support you in some areas of this role.

If this sounds like the perfect role for you, and you are eager to get involved, we would love to hear from you. Together, we will create a go to venue in Gateshead and keep this historic building open for people to enjoy as they have for the last 700 years.
