This role is part of our Language and Learning service, which supports integration through three key areas: employability workshops and advice, digital skills training, and non-accredited ESOL classes.
You will play a vital role in empowering individuals, particularly those who are learning English, to rebuild their confidence, develop their skills, feel more connected to their community, and move toward further education or employment. Working closely with the Service Manager, our volunteers, and the wider team, you will provide support and guidance to our volunteers and learners while also contributing to wider team activities and workshops that promote inclusion and opportunity.

Our offices at the CastleGate are situated close to Newcastle’s vibrant Quayside.
The role will be carried out mainly in person, with key working days being Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 09:00hrs till 17:00hrs. a degree of flexibility may still be required with regards to demands of the job requiring some work on other days, weekends or evenings.
About the Role
Reports to: Language & Learning Service Manager
Hours: 16h per week
Location: Newcastle Office, NE1 2JQ
Contract: Fixed term 1 year contract (subject to passing a 3- month probation period). An extension to this post may be possible, subject to further project funding.
Salary Scale: £25,470 to £28,121 per annum Pro Rata plus 6% pension contribution. It is our policy to appoint new roles at the bottom of the pay scale, however in exceptional circumstances, this can be negotiated.
Annual Leave: 28 days + English Bank Holidays Pro Rata
