The North East Charity Awards are returning for their eighth year and entries are open now for the 11 prizes up for grabs.

The awards ceremony, organised by The Journal and The Gazette will take place on 19th October at The Fed in Gateshead and is an opportunity to shine a light on the region’s best charities and their work. It also highlights individual funders and businesses that support the voluntary and community sector.

The Award Categories this year are:

  • Uniquely North East award (sponsored by VONNE)
  • Outstanding social enterprise award
  • Charity leader of the year
  • Outstanding contribution to social change award
  • Charity champion of the year
  • Young charity champion of the year
  • Small charity of the year
  • North East charity of the year
  • Outstanding charity support by large companies
  • Outstanding charity support by small to medium sized companies
  • Corporate charity ambassador of the year
