The North East Festival of Languages is run annually by Express Yourself and is a celebration of diverse languages and cultures in the North East for children and young people, schools, communities and professionals.
Learning languages and having intercultural awareness is important to help appreciate other cultures and broaden perspectives. It also builds confidence, communication and interpersonal skills in young people, helping with their development and opening up opportunities for them.
The festival runs from January until 31st March 2023, with most live events being held in March, and there are lots of free activities and resources available now for participants.
