Newcastle Disability Forum

Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter

Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter was established in 1896 and helps thousands of lost, unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned animals every year. Our objective is the promotion of kindness and prevention of cruelty to animals.

We reunite lost animals with their owners and find loving new homes for those no longer wanted. We cover the whole of the North East from our shelter at Benton North Farm in Newcastle.

Newcastle East End Football Club

In 1995, and a father and son decide to re-launch the famous Newcastle East End and build the club up from the grass roots.
Charlie and Kelly Scott set about, with the support of Newcastle City Council, to form Newcastle East End Juniors & Seniors FC – the phoenix had risen from the ashes!
The club started with only one junior team however over the last 15years they have established themselves as one of the most respected local clubs in the region and have progressed up the Football Association accreditation scheme to become one of only a handful of FA Charter Standard Community Club status in Newcastle.
The club boasts teams with a mix of Minisoccer, junior boy and girls teams, Under 19s and both Male and Female adult teams and a disability team. The next phase of development is well underway as they look to develop a disabled section within the club.
Their venue is one to be admired as they have 5 pitches, all with drainage, changing rooms, clubhouse and lounge to accommodate over 400 members and their parents, family and spectators. The club have reverted back to the original name of the venue also, Swans Recreation Ground, which as the name suggests was the venue for the workers at Swans to relax and play sports.

The mission of Newcastle Hospitals Charity is to be an enabler to improving the health and wellbeing of the patients, people and wider communities of Newcastle Hospitals, providing support for compassionate and innovative healthcare, education and research, local and nationally.

Newcastle Ravens RFC

Newcastle Ravens is an inclusive rugby club with a broad LGBTQ+ and ally membership. It has a Rugby Union 1XV and 2XV, which are part of the International Gay Rugby league, and a Touch Rugby team.

Newcastle Support Group offers free and regular mental health and emotional support in Newcastle, offering support to anyone over 18 in need of support due to their situation, circumstance, or their mental or physical health.

NewcastleGateshead Cultural Venues

NewcastleGateshead Cultural Venues (NGCV) is a collaboration between 10 building-based cultural producers operating 20 venues across visual arts, performing arts, music, dance, film, writing and literature, heritage, archives and museums and science communication in North East England.

Our members are all not for profit cultural organisations and share a commitment to work collaboratively to increase public engagement in our work and knowledge and understanding of the arts, sciences and culture, and collaborate to develop more resource-efficient ways of working:

We work together to maximise the artistic and economic potential of the cultural sector in the North East. We achieve this by developing strategic and creative initiatives, sharing practice and resources and by being a strong collective voice.

Our main areas of work are:
To sustain and develop the cultural offer and continue to deliver world-class culture
To engage more deeply with a growing and diverse audience and promote cross venue participation and engagement
To maximise efficiencies and be as lean as possible, whilst ensuring best quality
To investigate new income streams, explore commissioning, diversification and becoming more entrepreneurial
To influence policy and strategy and engage with stakeholders and influencers (locally, regionally, nationally and internationally) on issues of importance to the group, region and sector
