Northern Chords Festival

Northern Chords Festival has been bringing world-class musical performance to the North East since 2009.

Our vision for Northern Chords Festival’s development is to create strands of work across the professional and community music sectors in the North East that both acknowledge and develop the existing arts scene, through education and community work, professional development for leading musicians from the region, and regular festivals and associated events

Northern Creative Solutions

Northern Creative Solutions works in Newcastle and across the North East to make creative use of empty space and bring the voluntary and arts sectors together to do great things. We started in 2012 and became a charity in 2014.

We work to make a difference in Newcastle upon Tyne and the North East by:

Providing great value space to help active citizens, charities, community groups and social enterprises change the world.

We take empty buildings and spaces and use them for community, creative or cultural use and stop buildings and space being wasted. We set up and run buildings and spaces ourselves or work in partnership with others. We also act as a broker between communities/enterprises and building owners and councils.

We run Good Space @ Commercial Union House, a home for charities, social action and creativity in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne – a unique space blending social change, creativity and a collaborative way of working. Good Space is a meanwhile project, turning an empty office into a thriving community space.

Achieve with NERAF (Northern Engagement into Recovery from Addiction Foundation) is a Local North East Provider. We think we operate an innovative outreach recovery model where people are treated as individuals. Our customers tell us that we are good. but why not try us for yourselves?
Our Mission is  to ‘deliver and enable real positive differences to the lives of people affected by alcohol and substance misuse, this includes their family networks’.
Our Service offer is that everyone is unique and recovery is possible!.
We offer people the opportunity to develop skills for lasting recovery by supporting people to engage with their families, stop cycle of homelessness, ensure people are safeguarded, and support people into employment and to sustain employment – a truly co-ordinated approach to support.
Services are tailored to meet specific needs. We are committed to making your journey into recovery personal to you.
Using a  structured program of support agreed with you at the outset, we will help you to navigate, heal and recover. But remember it is up to you to take the first step but we will be there to help you along the way.

Northern Heartlands

Northern Heartlands' vision is for flourishing places where people use creativity to gain confidence, explore what matters, express their views and contribute to society.  We achieve this in two ways: working directly in places with communities to build confidence through creativity and working with strategic partners to facilitate their own relationships with the communities in places. Our focus areas of work are empowering local communities through arts and creativity; mental health and wellbeing; artists' development and capacity building and creating community arts spaces for the future.

Northern Housing Consortium

The Northern Housing Consortium (NHC) represents the views of housing organisations in the North of England. We are a membership organisation made up of local authorities, ALMOs and associations that provide social housing for tenants. By using our support and procurement services, housing organisations are investing in making the North an even greater place to live.

Northern Learning Trust

Northern Learning Trust is a registered charity which aims to improve the potential and raise the aspirations of people, by providing high quality community learning and mentoring. From our Learning Hives in Bedlington, Newbiggin, Ashington and Berwick, we provide bespoke programmes of learning in English, maths and ICT, support with job-search and applications, Learning for Health and Wellbeing and introductory qualifications in a range of vocational areas. We engage the most vulnerable, difficult to reach and disadvantaged people in our communities and give them the skills and confidence to progress.

Northern Print

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne's cultural quarter of Ouseburn Valley close to the city centre, our building is equipped with a studio, gallery and education space all dedicated to printmaking. Learning and participation are at the heart of what we do. We support artists who make original prints in their professional practice as well as working with schools and community groups and running a programme of classes and events for everyone.

Northern Proud Voices

Northern Proud Voices (NPV) provides an opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
people (and our non-LGBTQ+ friends) in the North East of England to come together to experience the joy of singing. The choir promotes a positive image of LGBTQ+ people in bringing together people of different ages, backgrounds, cultures, faiths and abilities to sing and perform.

Northern Stage

Northern Stage is the largest producing theatre in the North East. We run a year round participatory programme offering people of all ages and backgrounds an opportunity to take part in creative activities

Northumberland and Newcastle Society

We work to preserve the heritage, culture and landscape of our city and county, so that generations to come can appreciate their beauty and find new uses for them. For almost a century we have worked to ensure that the heritage of both city and county is first and foremost in the development of new building plans and proposals.

We liaise with councils, heritage groups and developers to not only preserve the best of our built environment, but to look at ways of making existing buildings sustainable for future use.

We also celebrate our culture and heritage through a packed programme of events, giving members exclusive behind the scenes tours of familiar and less familiar buildings and organisations.

Northumberland Archives Charitable Trust

The charity was set up in 2020 to support, promote and extend the vital work carried out by the Northumberland Archive Service. The Service collects, catalogues, digitises and protects primary source material from all aspects of Northumberland's social economic and cultural history and provides public access to it.
