Bridge Centre for Visual Arts
The Bridge Centre for Visual Arts is a registered charity that provides local access to wet studio space, pottery kilns, a printing press, painting and digital media equipment and the expertise of a creative community of professional artists. Based in Darlington, the organisation grew out of a voluntary group of arts professionals who came together following the closure of Darlington Arts Centre. The Bridge has been running for 5 years and has established a successful open access programme of arts courses, workshops and events, designed to improve mental and physical health and well being, helping alleviate isolation for example, in the local community, as well providing a base for the visual arts in the Darlington area. It also currently accommodates the Darlington Borough Council’s Community Arts Project for clients with learning disabilities.
Bridge Creative Enterprise CIC

Bringing Words to Life Limited
One in six people in the UK today has poor literacy skills, putting them at a clear disadvantage when applying for work or further education.
That’s why what we do at Bringing Words to Life is so important.
We put the passion back in the prose. Through all our writing projects, the aim remains the same: we help people find their voice by learning to put their pens – and their passions – to paper. Teen mums or schoolkids, ex-offenders or carers: writing with purpose is for everyone.
We create platforms for self-expression, fostering literacy and a love of the written word. After all, if you know there’s somebody listening, everyone can start to bring their words to life…

Brinkburn Community Association
British Heart Foundation
The British Heart Foundation wants to drive equitable access to evidence-based, cost-effective cardiovascular disease services that demonstrably improve patient outcomes.
To do this the British Heart Foundation employs regional Health Service Engagement teams. The North East team are a small team of change agents with clinical or management backgrounds in the NHS. The team works with the health system across the region to make the case for change and to implement innovations in CVD detection, diagnosis, management and care.
British Lung Foundation
One in five of us has problems with our breathing. Millions more are at risk. The British Lung Foundation is the only UK charity looking after the nation’s lungs.
We offer hope, help and a voice; our research finds new ways to prevent, treat and cure lung disease; our support gives people who struggle to breathe the skills, knowledge and confidence to take control of their lives; and together, we’re campaigning for clean air and better services.
One day, everyone will breathe clean air with healthy lungs.
British Red Cross
We help anyone, anywhere in the UK and around the world, get the support they need if crisis strikes.

Building Futures East
Building Futures East is community regeneration organisation, social enterprise and registered charity. It works with people in the 20% most disadvantaged communities north and south of Tyne. It takes a "people and place" based approach to its work, improving the quality of life and opportunity for individuals but also improving the quality of the environment in which people live.
It does 4 main things:
1. Provides a range of vocational skills training/capacity building/employability programmes to get people back into learning, work and economically active. It works with employers to do this.
2. Runs a social business that trains young people in horticulture and environmental maintenance, providing employment, apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships that target the most disadvantaged provides sustainable employment and delivers a commercial service to businesses and social housing agents. Any profit goes back into more training opportunities.
3. It works directly with local communities to increase social capital through social action and help them become more socially and economically resilient by addressing with them a range of local issues and finding positive, intelligent solutions.
4. It works to influence local policy decisions with a range of local stakeholders including the public and private sector, to build relationships and promote social cohesion.
Building Self-Belief CIO
Building Self-Belief's charitable mission is to use our expertise to support and develop individual self-belief and build better lives through building stronger communities.
Our programmes are designed to intervene early and prevent the onset of more serious mental health issues. We ensure that the young people involved have an opportunity for self-reflection, self-expression and self- improvement. We give them the tools to manage their moods, manage their emotions and we support them in ensuring they appreciate that they have the potential for a bigger and brighter future and how they need to embrace and enjoy such a prospect.
Bullion Hall
We are a local community development organisation, a core focus of our work is managing Bullion Hall, a community centre with a footfall of some 600 people per week. Through the activities in the Hall, we aim to contribute to the health and well-being, social inclusion and community cohesion of our local neighbourhoods.
We are running a distinct programme of social activities for adults with special needs - this includes a weekly film club (with Oscar ceremonies to follow) and Let's Connect social club.
We host the Bread-and-Butter Thing, and have free Sim cards, hygiene and cleaning packs for those who need them.
At the heart of Bullion Hall is the Wait er while café staffed by adults with learning disabilities, open each day from 9am-2pm serving light meals, refreshments and buffets to order to those using the hall as well as a takeaway service to our local neighbours, our café has consistently achieved 5-star food hygiene accreditation.
The building is fully accessible, Ofsted registered, benefits from a 34-space car park, bike rack and Buggy Park.
We have three rooms available for hire–Hall, Lounge and the Cabin. We also have a number of office spaces that hosts various independent charities including Girls Friendly Society, Integrating Children and Wheels to Work.
