Birkheads Wild CIC
Birkheads Wild CIC is a place for free range humans. We run a small Wild campsite and outdoor space in rural Gateshead where we aim to give more young people the opportunity to discover, explore and enjoy the outdoors - on their doorstep. We offer bushcraft sessions, guided walks, half day and full day experiences and limited overnight camps for groups of up to 20 people.
Birtley Community Aquatic Centre
Reopening the local council pool as a community swimming pool, we are a non profit making organisation for the benefit of the local community and surrounding area.
Birtley Community Association
The Centre is well used by the local Community, either as a direct service user or using the
centre for some of the evening sessions we run. Local people know that they can come in
with issues and get support to deal with these either at the Centre and or referred to
another service where appropriate. Our services, groups and initiatives are successful
because we work from a baseline of responding to identified need.
We currently serve approximately 700 members per week. Housed within the Birtley
Community Centre, the Association undertakes and achieves its aims in a number of
different ways
Birtley Community Partnership
Bishop Auckland Community Partnership
The Partnership runs the Four Clocks Community Resource Centre, and has associated projects in the community, such as Family Contact Centre, Cultivate 4 Life, Four Clocks Club and Memory Club, Time 4 Toddlers.
Bishop Busy Hands
Community craft group for all adults which specialise in promoting wellbeing and accepting people with any disability and adapting the crafts to suit their needs. This includes the use of BSL/SSE, adaptations for blindness, dexterity issues, mobility issues, neurodivergence and more. We pride ourselves on being fully accessible and inclusive.

Bishop Middleham Village Hall
Bishop Middleham Village Hall is a valued asset to the Parish. The Hall provides a shared space and facility for community activity and engagement and is used by a range of community groups. It is regularly hired for parties, meetings, presentations, and a variety of classes.
Blackfriars @ The Ouseburn St Vincent de Paul Society (England and Wales)
Blackfriars@Ouseburn is a hub for small groups with complex needs, supported by the SVP. We continue to develop different facilities on a regular basis for people such as Young carers, and lone parent families. We provide food parcels for the homeless and other disadvantaged people and we have created opportunities for the service users in the hostel to gain employability skills. Within the complex, we support clients with a variety of mental health issues.
Blaydon Youth and Community Centre CIO
Blaydon Youth and Community Centre (BYCC) is a local youth and community charity which was originally set up in the early 50’s. Our brilliant building based on Shibdon road, incorporates a kitchen area, lounge, two meeting rooms, a very large sports hall, and an on-site OFSTED registered childcare facility. We have a very small team of staff, and we rely on volunteers and a funding bids in order to continue our work and keep the centre running.
We currently work with a wide range of groups, including;
• Elderly and isolated
• Disabled children and adults
• Pre-school children
• Disadvantaged young people and members of the community
• Local primary schools
We also provide facilities for lots of community group activities i.e. Salvation Army life skills, Local community children’s football teams, Toddler groups, Messy play, Disability golf etc.

Our mission is to strengthen communities. We do this by building positive relationships and providing opportunities for children, youth and families to connect, develop life skills and make a difference in their community.
Blind Life in Durham
We aim to promote the welfare, independence and quality of life for people with visual impairment in County Durham.
◾ To be a voice for blind and partially sighted people.
◾ To create awareness amongst organisations/service providers etc.
We do this by providing
Friendship and advice, Regular social meetings, playing accessible sports such as New Age Kurling, New Age Bowls, Boccia and Axe and Lawn Darts and a Monthly newsletter
BLISS Mediation Services
BloomInArt NorthEast CIC
BloomInArt NorthEast CIC delivers creative arts projects within the community, engaging and inspiring people to use their imagination, learn new skills, and create a passion for the arts. We support the development of ideas through a range of specialist processes and materials including glass, ceramics, textiles, printmaking and sculpture. We outsource work to freelance artists who practice art forms outside of our specialism.
Our projects are delivered in a variety of settings within the community developing the engagement with the arts and highlighting the benefits of the creative industries within health, education and areas of social exclusion.
We are an Arts Award Centre (arts qualification for 5-25yr olds) and aim to incorporate the qualification into as many projects as possible. We have recently become an Artsmark Partner, which is an Arts Council England endorsed network of arts and cultural organisation’s that can support education settings on their Artsmark journey to embed arts and culture across the curriculum.
Blue Cabin CIO
We nurture meaningful relationships between children and young people with experience of the care system, and the adults and organisations who play a part in their lives. We place creativity at the heart of this process. We deliver creative programmes, develop partnerships between local authorities and arts organisations, and conduct research into the impact of creative interventions for care experienced children and young people.
Blue Sky Trust
Blue Sky Trust support and connect people living with HIV across the North East and Cumbria.
Their project Think For Yourself delivers sex and relationships education to young people in schools and the community.
Blue Spirit
Blue Spirit – Laury Gratiet Bursary Fund grants sailing bursaries to young people (aged 14 to 25) who are experiencing a mental health challenge or facing social / economic disadvantage.
Through our sailing partners in the north-east of England, we offer anything from half-day dinghy sailing, weekend sails and 6-day residential voyages.
Our aim is to enhance mental, emotional and physical wellbeing and reduce mental ill health and suicidal ideation in young people.

Blue Stone Collaborative supports public and third sector organisations to work together to improve the lives of individuals and communities by offering solutions to some of the barriers they face when they seek to collaborate.
BlueJay Body, Mind & Soul CIC
BlueJay Wellness CIC is dedicated to empowering young people to enhance their mental and physical wellbeing for life. We equip them with a versatile toolkit of techniques—ranging from yoga and mindfulness to breathwork and an understanding of the human body—that they can utilise themselves whenever they need support.
