Room for You provides an arts in health service for patients, their friends and family members in Gateshead, Sunderland and Newcastle.

Roots and Wings C.I.C.

We are a multidisciplinary design company made up of creative problem-solvers, dedicated to tackling a wide array of projects, all of which have a social or environmental objective.

Roots and Wings C.I.C was founded in 2008 by a group of individuals from a range of creative and entrepreneurial backgrounds. Since our inception we have expanded our team, our reach, and our creative services, combining our skills to support those people, projects, and institutions who are working on the front line, striving to make the world a better place socially and environmentally.

As the scope and scale of our projects continues to grow, so does our ability to positively impact the environment and the communities that we serve. Over the years our core values haven’t changed at all – to tackle inequality and social issues through creative solutions, and to support organisations and projects that match these values. From our headquarters in Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley, we strive to make the world fairer and more just by undertaking projects that fulfill these objectives.

Rosie's Corner provides preowned baby and children's clothing, shoes and equipment for families in West Northumberland. Families can access our service free of charge or for a donation.

Rothbury United Reformed Church is a small congregation worshipping God and serving the community.

Rowlands Gill & District Live At Home Scheme

Rowlands Gill Community Centre

Our primary purpose is to help people in the area improve their well-being and lives by providing facilities for them for their education, recreation, leisure time and social welfare. The centre is used by a wide range of regular groups. We also hire it out for parties, special events, local exhibitions, sales opportunities for local crafts people, plant sales and music nights. We deliver free events each year for vulnerable children in the area and run several fund-raising events each year. We have formed a partnership with all the other charities, churches and library to provide over-arching support for the communities in High Spen, Highfield and Rowlands Gill.

Royal Voluntary Service

Royal Voluntary Service wants to help create a society where everyone feels valued and involved whatever their age.

We are one of the largest volunteer organisations in the country. Our 35,000 volunteers help older people stay active, independent and able to continue to contribute to society. They do this by providing practical and emotional help where and when it’s needed.

We are a grassroots charity based in Durham, working to prevent suicide and support people experiencing mental health difficulties. We offer free, creative, non-clinical support to people who are often excluded from traditional services – including those affected by poverty, trauma, isolation, and stigma. Through regular group sessions, one-to-one support, and community events, we help people feel valued, connected, and empowered! RTProjects fills a vital gap in local mental health provision, offering a safe, welcoming space where people can express themselves, build resilience, and find hope.

Rural Action Derbyshire was formerly known as Derbyshire Rural Community Council, the host organisation for Wheels to Work North Durham

Ryton Cross Community Society Ltd

Ryton Cross Community Society Ltd was established in 2018 as a Community Benefit Society.
It owns Ye Olde Cross community pub in Ryton, Gateshead. It has set about a long term renovation programme for the 100 year old pub and has a social impact plan so that the venue is a valuable community asset.
As well as the pub operation being contracted to a Tenant, the Society of volunteers hosts numerous community activities throughout the year.

Sacriston Community Association

Sacriston Communirty & Sports Trust raised funds to build a community centre, namely The Fulforth Centre, in the village of Sacriston which opened in October 2008 as a self sustaining organisation.
The Trust is forward looking, ambitious and with a commitment to continued improvement. They are people focused with a can-do attitide, which strives for excellence in all they do and operate with mutual respect. The trust also work with a number of partners in the area.

Sacriston Youth Project

Sacriston Youth Project (SYP) is a registered charity and currently offers a variety of youth work sessions where young people can access a range of projects and programmes which are all determined by the young people themselves.

SAFE by Community Security Trust

Community Security Trust (CST) is a charity that protects British Jews from antisemitism and related threats. The SAFE Programme was established in 2019 to help communities in the UK to access relevant security advice. SAFE shares the CST’s security knowledge with groups outside the Jewish community that are vulnerable to violence, extremism or hate crime, through its free programme of talks and webinars. We now have staff located in, and specifically focussing this work in, the North East.
