University of Sunderland Students’ Union exists to enhance the overall experience of all our students and to support the student voice. We provide a network of support designed to help you have the best student experience here at Sunderland University.

A training organisation based in Sunderland specialising in Personal Development and Employability training and coaching services.

US Active

US Active works with young people aged 12-25 living in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and North Durham who have , or who are at risk of developing mental health difficulties. We work to engage them in a sport or activity of their choice in order for them to benefit from the mental health benefits of physical activity and exercise.

User Voice

We give a voice to the people in the criminal justice system. Through their ideas we deliver change.

We were created by and are run by people who have been in prison and on probation. Lived experience means we engage empathetically instead of sympathetically.

We exist to reduce offending by working with the most marginalised people in and around the criminal justice system to make sure that practitioners and policy-makers hear their voices.”

UTASS works with and for the communities across the Durham Dales, helping people gain access to the services, advice and resources that they need to enable them to feel supported, valued, happier and more able to cope.

As a local charity, working across the dales for over 25 years, UTASS is passionate about helping people living and working here to overcome the challenges they may face.

Versus Arthritis

Versus Arthritis is a national charity, alongside volunteers, healthcare professionals, we continue to develop breakthrough treatments, campaign relentlessly for arthritis to be seen as a priority, and support each other whenever we need it.

We provide information for people living with arthritis on our website, by calling our helpline, asking our virtual assistant or on our online community forum

Our research has made life-changing breakthroughs and improve the lives of millions of people living with arthritis. We strive to accelerate pace and improve precision – to create more and better-tailored solutions that directly benefit people with arthritis.

We provide support and services for people with arthritis in across the UK. We provide them, their families, and friends with support, understanding, information and expertise so they can get the most out of life.

We work with policy-makers to ensure arthritis stays on their agenda. Our data and analysis help policy makers to understand arthritis and MSK conditions. We run campaign to make our politicians listen and take action.

We provide GP's and healthcare professionals with training, information, resources and the tools they need to support their patients in every way they can.

Our aim to help and support residents in North Tyneside areas and provide low cost affordable hot meals through our community cafe, regular community activities and information and advice for our customers. Serving predominantly older people we are often seen as a lifeline for many and help to combat periods of isolation for many.

Virgin Money Foundation

We seek to make a real and lasting difference in the places that need it most by working in partnership with organisations that are committed to regenerating their area and by investing in community activities that have a meaningful impact. The Foundation was established in 2015, and has awarded over £12million to incredible initiatives. Each grant creating positive change in a local community.

Vision for Access CIC

Vision for Access CIC is a social enterprise that champions accessibility and inclusion for people with sight loss. It provides practical support, website accessibility audits, and training and workshops to businesses, organisations, and employers to create a more inclusive society.
