Tyne & Wear Building Preservation Trust (TWBPT) was established in 1979 to preserve the architectural heritage of Tyne and Wear through the repair, conservation and regeneration of our historic buildings and structures.
Today we work in close collaboration with communities, funders, volunteers and end users across all five Local Authority areas in the Tyne and Wear region to rescue, restore and safeguard buildings and structures under threat. Our work has evolved considerably in recent years and we work to achieve strong social and environmental aims through our core ethos of Heritage Better Managed.

Tyne Rivers Trust
Tyne Rivers Trust has a unique role as guardian of the River Tyne Catchment, overseeing the continuing conservation and regeneration of the river from the impacts of its industrial past. We can only do this by working with others. We need people to become involved alongside us, and as a charity we rely on financial and volunteer support.

Tyneside Cinema is the North East’s leading specialised cinema and digital arts venue and is located in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. We opened our doors in 1937 and are the last surviving news theatre still operating as a cinema today.
Tyneside Cinema welcomes almost 500,000 people into its building every year, offering a rich and diverse artistic programme of film, exhibitions and events across film, artist film and film heritage for audiences of all ages and from all walks of life.
We also have a strong commitment to children and young people, and deliver a significant and highly regarded learning and participation programme for, with and by children and young people aged 8-24 years. This is housed in a dedicated creative space opposite Tyneside Cinema’s main building on Pilgrim Street.
